The famous American reality show ‘Shark Tank’ has a version in India. SonyTV launched ‘Shark Tank India’ to India on their OTT, SonyLiv, airing the first of 30 episodes with seven popular startup magnates, or “Sharks,” committing investments to new entrepreneurs.
While ‘Shark Tank India’ got a high TRP and a huge audience, it is also being trolled for being dramatic and pretentious. There has been social media outrage over some of the comments to founders on ‘Shark Tank India’ by Ashneer Grover, Co-Founder BharatPe and Peyush Bansal, Co-Founder, Chief Executive & People Officer, Lenskart. Some people are miffed and confused over the culture of these “Sharks”, and some are assuming things on a lighter note for chuckles on social media.
