India recommended its stranded citizens in Ukraine learn a few Russian phrases to protect themselves in severe circumstances. In an advisory issued by the Defence Ministry, the government urged its Indian nationals stuck in Ukraine, especially Kharkiv, to remember a few sentences in the Russian language.
Here are the sentences in Russian:
‘Ya student iz Indii (I am a student from India)’
‘Ya nekombatant (I am a non-combatant)’
‘Pazhalusta Pamagite (please, help me)’
The Union Defence Ministry issued survival guidelines/ advisory prepared by the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses for stranded Indians in Ukraine, particularly Kharkiv, and cautioned them to be watchful for potentially dangerous and extreme circumstances.
