Priyanka Chopra Reveals The Real Reason Why She Left Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra opened up about why she left Bollywood and moved to the West despite being one of the top actors and superstar in Hindi cinema in the 2000s.

Priyanka Chopra, speaking to Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert: “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (#Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. So, when this music thing came, I was like ‘f*** it, I am going to America’.”

Priyanka Chopra made her way into Hollywood after she starred in the 2015 television series ‘Quantico’ but way before that, she featured in a few music videos as she was trying to make it as an international music artist.

She was facing some opposition as people were not casting her in the movies. It was at that time that her manager Anjula Acharia came to her rescue. Acharia saw her in a music video and called her to ask if she would be interested in building a career in music in the United States.

Priyanka shared with Dax that, “This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require groveling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”

Well, destiny had better things coming for her along with Nick Jonas!
